Twilight Masquerade – Ogerpon, Greninja ex and collector's guide

The Most Valuable Pokémon Cards in Twilight Masquerade

Updated on October 6, 2026.

Ogerpon's masks provide a clear starting point for Twilight Masquerade. The expansion takes us to Kitakami and allows the same Pokémon to appear in different forms. This provides a collection theme that is easy to follow, while cards like Greninja ex show a different side of the set.

Twilight Masquerade was released in English on May 24, 2024. The base set includes 167 cards, and the full numbered card list features 226. Here, you will get help choosing what to look for and which products fit your plan.

Ogerpon and the masks hold the theme together

Teal Mask, Wellspring Mask, Hearthflame Mask, and Cornerstone Mask Ogerpon ex are different cards to tell apart. If Ogerpon is your favorite, you can build a collection around the masks and then choose which illustrations to include.

It is also a practical exercise in card identification: the name Ogerpon ex is not enough to search correctly. Use the full name and card number. Some Pokémon have multiple versions even within the same expansion.

Greninja ex 214/167 from Twilight Masquerade

Greninja ex 214/167: a special card version

Greninja ex 214/167 is a Special Illustration Rare. That is the version you should search for if you want to compare this specific collectible card, not just "Greninja ex." You can view the card and its details in the official Pokémon card database.

For the collector, the motif and version are part of the choice. For the player, attacks, energy cost, and card text determine how the card functions. A rarer illustration does not in itself make the effects stronger.

What else is there to discover?

The set also contains Dragapult ex, Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex, and Trainer cards with ties to Kitakami. Together, they provide several ways to narrow down the collection:

  • Ogerpon's masks: follow a Pokémon through several forms.
  • Kitakami: choose Pokémon and trainers that belong to the setting.
  • Illustration cards: choose a short wishlist from Illustration Rare and Special Illustration Rare.

Starting with a smaller theme makes it easier to see what you are actually missing. If you want to collect the entire expansion, you first need to decide if the goal is the base set, all numbered cards, or also foil variants and promos.

Booster box or Elite Trainer Box?

In the Twilight Masquerade collection, you will find available products in our assortment. Compare the contents based on how you want to use the purchase:

  • Single packs: to try the set with a smaller opening budget.
  • Standard English booster box: 36 packs for more openings. Check the price per pack.
  • Elite Trainer Box: for those who also want promos, storage, and accessories. Check the exact edition and contents.

A box does not guarantee Greninja ex 214/167 or any other specific card. If you mainly want to fill a few gaps, single cards are an alternative to more random openings.

How to compare cards without mixing up the versions

  1. Write down the full name and number.
  2. Check the language, rarity, and any foil variant.
  3. Assess the condition of the front and back.
  4. Compare several completed sales of the same version.

Follow the valuation guide for the method. Use soft sleeves and albums for the collection, or a sleeve and a toploader when a card needs stiffer support.

Which 2024 set fits your theme?

Twilight Masquerade gives you Ogerpon and Kitakami. Stellar Crown revolves around Terapagos and Stellar Tera Pokémon ex, while Surging Sparks offers a different selection, including Pikachu ex. Compare them in the guide to 2024 Pokémon sets.
