Stellar Crown – Terapagos, collection goals and product guide

Pokémon Stellar Crown: A Guide to the Set

Updated on October 6, 2026.

Terapagos on the packaging highlights the theme of Stellar Crown: Pokémon with a crystal-like appearance and Stellar Tera Pokémon ex. But a collection does not have to revolve around the set's mascot. Cinderace, Lapras, and Galvantula provide other entry points for those looking to pick a favorite.

The English expansion was released on September 13, 2024. The base numbering includes 142 cards, and the full numbered list totals 175 cards. Foil variants and separate promos need to be counted separately if you are planning a complete collection.

What does Stellar Tera Pokémon ex mean?

Stellar Tera Pokémon ex are cards that introduce the Stellar theme into the Pokémon TCG. It is important to distinguish between how a card looks and how it functions: read the energy cost, attacks, and card text, not just the name or illustration.

Terapagos ex, Cinderace ex, Lapras ex, and Galvantula ex are examples to start with. The set also includes Hydrapple ex and ACE SPEC cards. This provides several possible collection themes beyond the Pokémon seen on the box.

Three ways to collect Stellar Crown

Follow a favorite Pokémon

Choose, for example, Terapagos or Lapras and make a list of the versions in the English card list. The same name can appear on multiple card numbers. This makes a small collection project more manageable than starting with all cards and variants.

Collect illustrations

Browse the card list and pick motifs you want to see in your binder. Illustration Rare and Special Illustration Rare describe different rarities, but you don't need to collect both categories or choose based on price. Write down the card numbers for your favorites before you buy.

Build a numbered set

Decide whether you mean the base list of 142 cards or all 175 numbered cards. Then add a separate checklist if you also want reverse holos and promos. That difference affects both the space in the album and how extensive the project will be.

What should players look for?

A special illustration does not make a card stronger in a match. Base your decision on the card's function in the deck and check which format you want to play. A rarer version is therefore not automatically a better purchase for gameplay.

Start with the Pokémon TCG rules for beginners if you need to understand how attacks, energy, and decks fit together. The set's release date alone does not determine if all its cards are legal in a specific competitive format today.

Booster box, ETB, or individual packs?

  • Individual packs: choose this when you want to try out the expansion on a smaller budget.
  • Booster box: the standard English box contains 36 packs. Compare the price per pack.
  • Elite Trainer Box: also compare the promo and accessories, not just the number of boosters. Different editions may have different contents.

You can find the products in the Stellar Crown collection. More packs mean more openings, but no promise of a specific card. If the goal is a specific Terapagos version, you can compare a single card with your opening budget.

How does Stellar Crown differ from other 2024 sets?

Stellar Crown is a natural starting point if you want to explore Terapagos and the Stellar Tera theme. If you would rather collect around Ogerpon and Kitakami, you can read the Twilight Masquerade guide. For Pikachu ex and another selection of Pokémon, there is Surging Sparks. In the overview of 2024 Pokémon sets, you can see all six expansions together.

Store what you want to keep

Use soft sleeves and an album that fits the cards when you are building a set. For a loose card, a sleeve and a toploader can provide sturdier support. See the card protection guide for fit and usage.
