Choose the right binder for Pokémon cards and trading cards
Start with how the cards are protected
For cards with or without sleeves, choose a standard card binder. If the cards are in rigid toploadersyou need a toploader binder with larger pockets. Graded cards in slabs require a specific slab or PSA binder. These binder types are not interchangeable – check the model's specified compatibility.
Compare pockets and total capacity
4-, 9-, and 12-pocket refers to the number of pockets per page side. The binder's total capacity also depends on the number of pages and how the pockets are designed. Two 9-pocket models do not necessarily hold the same number of cards.
Check if the capacity refers to one card per pocket or cards placed back-to-back. Also, plan for empty spaces if you are collecting a complete set. Cards, sleeves, and pockets should fit together without you having to force the cards in.
Fixed pages, ring binder, or zipper
A binder with fixed pages has a set capacity. A ring binder can use interchangeable plastic sheets; check the ring format, sheet dimensions, and whether sheets are included. A binder with a zipper stays closed during transport but is not automatically waterproof or adapted for toploaders.
Choose pocket dimensions based on cards and sleeves
Base your choice on the card's dimensions and any protection used. For standard Pokémon cards and other cards in standard format, there are standard-sized sleeves. Smaller or thicker cards and graded slabs may require other pockets. Read the product page for the specific model you choose.
Binder for football cards and other sports cards
Choose a binder based on the cards' dimensions and any sleeves, not just the sport or the theme. Football cards can have different formats and thicknesses. Check the pocket dimensions for the specific Panini or Topps series; larger cards, thick memorabilia cards, and toploaders may require special pockets.
For a ring binder, you can choose loose plastic pockets and binder sheets. Check the hole pattern, sheet size, and whether the capacity is calculated per page or per full sheet.
Organize the collection
Sort by expansion, card number, team, or player, for example. Cards that are not to be displayed in the binder can be stored in storage boxesthat fit the cards' protection. More solutions can be found among our accessories for trading cards.

Frequently asked questions
Which binder should I choose for Pokémon cards?
Choose a card binder with pockets for standard-sized trading cards and check that your sleeves fit. If the cards are in toploaders, you need a toploader binder; for graded cards in slabs, a specific slab or PSA binder is required.
What does 4-, 9-, and 12-pocket mean?
The number indicates the number of pockets per page side, not the binder's total capacity. Also, compare the number of pages and the stated card capacity on the product page.
Do all 9-pocket binders have the same capacity?
No. The capacity depends on the number of pages and the pocket design. Also, check if the product's capacity refers to single cards or cards placed back-to-back in the same pocket.
Can I put toploaders in a regular card binder?
Regular card binders are generally intended for cards with or without sleeves. For cards in toploaders, you should choose a toploader binder and check what toploader dimensions it fits.
Do graded PSA cards fit in a toploader binder?
A toploader binder is not the same as a PSA binder. Graded cards in slabs require a binder that is explicitly intended for that type of slab.
What should I check on a ring binder?
Check the ring format, compatible plastic sheets, and whether sheets are included. Ring binders can have interchangeable sheets, while binders with fixed pages have a predetermined capacity.
Can I use sleeves in the binder?
Yes, if the card with the sleeve fits the pocket's dimensions. Choose sleeves based on the card's size and check the fit without forcing the card in.
