Choose the right toploader or semi-rigid for trading cards
Rigid or semi-rigid card protection?
A toploader provides a rigid outer shell for a single card. A semi-rigid card holder is semi-rigid and more flexible. Choose based on how the card will be stored or handled and check the model's dimensions. A semi-rigid is not a standard soft sleeve.
Distinguish between outer dimensions and card thickness
3 × 4 inches is a common outer size for toploaders. This describes the width and height of the holder, not the card thickness it can accommodate. Pt indicates the card thickness the holder is intended for. This is a different metric than, for example, 25-pack, which indicates the number of holders in the package.
For standard TCG cards, choose a model intended for standard-sized cards. Patch cards and other thick memorabilia cards may require greater thickness capacity. Check the card's thickness and the product specifications rather than just relying on the card's width and height.
